Volunteer Information
FRONT ENTRY
This volunteer will arrive 45 minutes prior to the meet start time and assist with collecting spectator entry fees as people arrive. This position is located at a table at the front doors and ends roughly at the half time of the meet.
HEAD TIMER
The head timer will sit on the side of the pool and start a stopwatch at the beginning of each race. This stopwatch is our backup stopwatch in case a stopwatch on a lane has malfunctioned or failed to start. Head Timer will be responsible for monitoring the lanes and getting the working stopwatch to its needed area.
RUNNER
Pick up timing sheets and take to computer operator.
TIMER
Timers will stand behind the starting block of each lane and help time the races. Each timer will be assigned a lane, and have a specific responsibility within their lane. Every lane has its own stop watch, timer plunger, and event spreadsheet. Operating those devices will be divided amongst the amount of timers you have in your lane. If you have more than three people working a lane, you will be able to divide up the meet hours so no one volunteer is working an entire meet. This volunteer position is the perfect representation of the more the merrier!
